Praise the Lord! Thank you, Jesus! And Amen!!
All these are sincere sentiments of what the Lord is doing at Starting Point. I’m amazed at God’s goodness and provision. Answered prayers:
Joan (nurse) and David (landscaping) Houser are new volunteers.
27% increase in calls to the center by people seeking services in April
The building was paid off by an anonymous donor, propelling the ministry forward!
These exciting answers to prayer prove the Lord is working on our behalf, and we are confident that He will continue to light the path for Starting Point to capture the next generation.
About 85% of our clients are abortion-vulnerable and it is vital we reach them as early as possible in their pregnancies to prevent them from seeking dangerous over-the-counter abortion pills when they are facing an unplanned pregnancy.
The cry of our collective Starting Point heart (especially after Ohio passed legislation that seals abortion in our constitution) is “Lord, show us how to reach them. Give us the tools and resources to cast our net farther to capture this generation of young people. Get us closer to the high school and college campuses so we can show them Your truth and love that life will prevail at any cost!”
The vision of reaching more abortion-vulnerable and abortion-minded young people in our community is at the forefront of all we do at Starting Point. This is why we‘re thrilled that God has provided resources for us to expand our ministry outside the walls of our building.
Imagine Tonya, a sophomore at a local high school. She just got her license and is walking out to her car after school. Across the parking lot she notices a BIG GREEN RV. On the side it says, “Free & Confidential Pregnancy Tests.” She doesn’t need this, but her friend Kelly was just telling her at lunch she thinks she might be pregnant and doesn’t know what to do. She wonders, “Can they help my friend?”
Very soon, Starting Point can make this scenario a reality. Starting Point is on the cusp of building a new “RV mobile ministry.” This RV will be created to take free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds and STI/STD testing out into our community. We are praying for the Lord to bring the necessary resources to make this happen. What do we need? We need financial resources and more volunteers in order to build a successful mobile ministry for Knox County. With the opportunity to lease a mobile unit in the next few months and the donation of an ultrasound machine for the mobile ministry, we are well on our way to making this dream a reality! But we need you! Do you know any local nurses who would be willing to help for a few hours a week in the center or on the mobile unit? Having an ultrasound technician license with a degree in sonography is a plus, but training will be provided for nurses wanting to learn ultrasounds. Please, reach out if this is you or if you know someone! Thank you for being faithful partners! If you are looking for ways to make an even bigger impact, would you consider a special gift toward the mobile ministry? Your gifts add purpose and meaning to the lives we serve.
