Why Families Matter
There is rarely a family that doesn’t experience some type of brokenness. We see marriages at the breaking point, single parents trying to figure out life on their own, families splitting and children being caught in the middle. This is detrimental to our community, and now there is scientific evidence to explain why this is a problem.
In partnership with the Institute for Family Studies, Center for Christian Virtue has published an in-depth report demonstrating how the future of our state and nation lies in strong marriages and families. The report, titled “Hope and a Future,” can be found at www.CCV.org/Hope.
Ohio ranks near the bottom of the states in family structure health. When family structure health decreases, we see a rise in child poverty, violence, poor academic outcomes and a decrease in population.
Leaders are making a difference. Let’s commit to stand with them!
The One Big Beautiful Bill - Americans United for Life recently shared that the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill to end taxpayer funding of abortion and prioritize the needs of families across the nation. You can see more about it and add your support by clicking the link below.
Ohio Prenatal Protection Act - Follow Ohio’s 136th General Assembly H.B. 370 (House Bill) and reach out to your House and Senate Representatives to show your support of the bill.
Over the next several months, we will be sharing facts that were revealed in the “Hope and a Future” report and what we can do to counter the trends locally. Supporting families with education and resources gives us a “Starting Point” right here in our community.
Through prayer, volunteering and partnership, you are an ally with us for young families. Together, we can help young people see beyond the brokenness and offer God’s truth and love to them.
Committed and hopeful,
