The Blessing of a Father

A recent national survey revealed that the most influential person in a woman’s pregnancy decision is actually the father of the baby. Sadly, many men remain silent because the culture has convinced them that their role as a father is profoundly insignificant in the face of a woman’s right to choose. Still, women across America report they would have made a different pregnancy choice if their partner had been more engaged and supportive. As it stands, approximately 18.3 million (that is 1 in 4) children in the world are living without the blessing of a father in their home. The United States now has the highest rate of single-parent households in the world. We need to do better. If we truly believe that healthy families are the foundation of a thriving community, then we MUST encourage the most influential person in a young mother’s life- her baby’s father.
