No Gift is too Small
Desperate. Lost. Lonely. Seeking truth. Needing compassion and healing. Afraid and anxious. All these describe how people feel when they come to Starting Point. They bring nothing. We are moved with compassion. Helping them find truth, hope and provision to meet their physical, emotional and spiritual needs is our mission.
They are hungry for truth, and we have a need to meet. We obey and trust Jesus to provide what we require to serve them. Jesus told the disciples “not to send them away but to give them something to eat” (Matt. 14:16 NIV). They had just five loaves and two fish. Jesus took it, looked to heaven and blessed it.
No gift is too small!
Partnering with Starting Point is more than just a financial gift once a year. It is an opportunity to extend our resources into the hands of Jesus to bless, multiply and serve the multitudes that come.
One faithful partner, who monthly sends his $10 check by mail, received a call of appreciation. He said, “It’s not much, but I want to do something.” He was assured that Jesus is taking all our combined gifts, blessing and multiplying them to meet the needs of the 269 unique clients we have already served this year. No gift is too small when given in obedience to the Lord.
Jesus directed the people to sit down in the grass, and he fed them. They all ate and were satisfied. And there were leftovers! Partners, volunteers, staff, and board members are called to serve compassionately as Jesus did. Just as the disciples waited for Jesus’ instructions, we prayerfully wait on the Lord’s provision while we do our part, ministering to families with excellence.
We are all filled with supernatural peace and deeply satisfied when we obey. Will you bring your loaves and fish, present them to the Lord and watch how he multiplies the gifts you give to serve our community?
Respectfully,
Jenn Furay, Executive Director
