No Gift is too Small!
James 1:17 reminds us that “every good and perfect gift comes from above.” We have learned that no gift is too small, and together we can make a difference. Starting Point has grown tremendously, and we continue to challenge ourselves with new strategies, tools and services to reach even more young people in our community.
There were many special moments throughout the night of our Annual Fundraising Banquet:
Janet Thompson was this years Lifetime Service Award recipient. She has served faithfully in the center for over 24 years. Janet’s attention to detail allows the Bump & Beyond Boutique to be a special place where parents feel valued and build self-confidence as they learn while they earn in the Start Here Program.
In honor of Janet, Rayne Adams and Kyra Ditto, students at MVNU, were awarded $500 scholarships through a legacy gift from the Starting Point Board of Directors.
Kelly Burnside made us chuckle by sharing how he earned dollars that he choose to donate to Starting Point. He may prefer laundry and math over cleaning out the bunny cage!
Christina Hagan was our keynote and shared how every gift, no matter the type (praying, volunteering, or giving), is part of the big picture. No gift is too small when we dedicate it to the Lord to help those in our community that need support, encouragement and resources!
“Rosie,” the new medical mobile unit, has been commissioned for use in our community. She was named after our beloved volunteer, Laura Rose Dennison, who crossed over into eternity earlier this year and was known for her passion for evangelism.
Just like the boy in Mark 6 who came to Jesus offering his two fish and five small loaves to feed a multitude, we seek the Lord’s provision. He takes our gifts, blessing and multiplying them to supply all our needs. Your time, prayers and financial gifts are truly appreciated. There is a place for everyone at Starting Point! You can still help us reach our goal!
