Join us October 3rd, 2026 for the return of our 5k & Family Glow Night! Our event features not only a laid back 5k (that you can either run or walk), but a bounce house from Mount Vernon Bounce House, coffee from Sweet Bubble & Bean Coffee Truck and ice cream for the kids from Round Hill Dairy!
Prizes will be given away to the first man, woman, student and child (4-12), who complete the FULL 5k route! All adult attendees will be entered to win a one-night stay at The Grand Hotel in downtown Mount Vernon. A pizza party will be awarded to the youth group who raises the most money for Starting Point (see more info below)!

The Annual Fundraiser: 5k & Family Glow Night is a great entry point to get involved in Starting Point. It allows you the opportunity get a t-shirt, race packet and entry in prize drawings! As a local ministry, Starting Point uses events like the Family Glow Night to raise funds in order to offer all services at no cost to our clients.
No, you will not have to gather sponsors in order to attend the Family Glow Night. The event requires registration.

Yes!! College students can register for a discounted price of $15. However, if you can get 10 or more friends to join you, your group can get in for $10/ea. Contact Jess at development@knoxstartingpoint.com to register this way!
This offer is for verified college students and youth groups only.
We are excited to have Round Hill Dairy and Sweet Bubble & Bean Coffee Truck at our event once again this year. All children will receive a ticket for one free ice cream treat from Round Hill Dairy. Ice cream and coffee will be available for purchase for adults! Free items such as water, fruit and granola bars will be offered as well.
Feel free to take the 5k at your own pace - we want everyone to enjoy the experience! At the finish line you will see a large timer clock. Each race participant is responsible for remembering their own finish time.
The route consists of three laps, allowing walkers to choose the number of laps they would like to participate in.
Please note: for runners to complete a full 5k length, you must stay on the outside edge of the route below.

The youth group who raises most funds for Starting Point using our “foot print” form will earn a free pizza party!
A special thanks to Scott Burgess of We Run MV for creating our 5k route for us! The route will begin and end in front of the MVNU chapel and features three laps around the MVNU campus.
